Most students have difficulties when it comes to doing their homework. We all need a few guidelines on how to get around the scenario quickly. Below are directions on how to get that motivation:

Find your Inspiration.

  1. Keep in mind the relevance of school: Look at the bigger picture. Set personal goals. Have in mind that:
    • – Doing an excellent job with your work is a reward and boosts one’s self-esteem.
    • – Good grades get one of their dream colleges and work towards an exciting career.
  2. Have SMART goals: should be Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, and Time-bound. Goals should get written down. Celebrate whenever you achieve one.
  3. Experiment what time works best for you and what kind of environment: Some people work best in the morning hours, others in the afternoons or evenings. If easily distracted while working from home, go to a library or a coffee shop. It’s a helpful changing routine if one gets bored, working at a different time than usual, finding a new study space can be useful.
  4. Have a study buddy: Doing homework will be enjoyable. While choosing a study buddy, get someone serious about getting work done to avoid distracting each other.
  5. Treat yourself before work: It’s good to reward yourself not only after you have finished working but also before you get to work, this lifts your mood. Limit yourself to a specific amount of time.

Staying Focused and Alert.

  1. Take care of your physical needs: Be in comfortable clothes, do some yoga if physically tense, have a well-rested sleep, don’t work while hungry.
  2. Quiet and comfortable workspace: well-lit and one that gives plenty of space to spread out. Be comfortable, but not too comfortable.
  3. Do away with distractions: maybe listening to gentle classical music, nothing exciting. Put your phone away, turn off notifications, and phone on silent.
  4. Energize with water and healthy snacks: While you study to hydrate, it helps you wake up, focus, and stay alert.
  5. Have breaks while you work: one can lose focus, have a burnout. During breaks, take a walk, nap, and meditate.
  6. Switch tasks to stay sharp: when you can no longer stand looking at the assignment you are doing that is English related switch to solving math problems, you will still be productive, giving your brain a break.

Schedule yourself effectively.

  1. Have a daily study schedule: keeps you on track, and work feels manageable. Set aside specific time each for studying, including breaks.
  2. Prioritize assignments, do the most urgent difficult ones first: Make an ordered list for all your tasks. Setting aside the more essential duties to wait leads to panic, frustration, and missed deadlines.
  3. Break assignments down into manageable pieces: Large, complicated assignments are overwhelming, break them down into smaller chunks for a more straightforward approach.

Conclusion

Everyone who’s tackling homework needs motivation on how to go about it. Even though you love what you do, it can be hard to stay excited about doing it. It’s important to set personal goals and work towards them, find your inspiration to fuel you, minimize distractions, and care for yourself while working. Do what keeps you focused and feel free to get assignment help in London when you need it. Finally, schedule yourself, don’t forget to break your homework down to manageable pieces to avoid overwhelming. With all this, you will get the motivation to get that homework done effectively.

Excellent homework debate http://www.lsepoxies.com/excellent-homework-debate.html http://www.lsepoxies.com/excellent-homework-debate.html#respond Wed, 05 Aug 2020 15:16:38 +0000 http://www.lsepoxies.com/?p=69 The argument about homework assignments has been raging for years, with discussions going back and forth between less and more homework for students. Currently, the debate is louder because there is a perception that children get more assignments in lower level grades. Research shows that the homework quantity for children between six to nine years has increased as of the late 1980s. Homework critics cite studies that show homework assignments have no benefits to children in elementary grades. The research notes that young children are not ready to learn work habits and time management that evening homework teaches. Also, having scores depends on homework disadvantages children from low-income communities who might not have resources to complete evening homework assignments. Supporters of homework are parents and educators who see homework assignments as necessary for buttressing lessons learned in the classroom during the day. They also argue that homework prepares children for higher learning levels like college, high school, and middle school.

Very young for night homework

Supporters of this argument, contend that homework assignments informative school years are probable to drive children away from learning and boost academic outcomes. They also argue that time spent on homework assignments is not utilized on significant events such as family, rest, and playtime. Research shows no relationship between homework and academic performance, particularly in elementary grades.

According to Heather Shumaker, homework assignments, to some extent, assist high school students but do not confers academic advantages to children in elementary schools. The irony is that teachers are piling more and more homework on younger children. A couple of elementary schools in recent years have adopted no-homework rules. For example, an elementary school in Maryland called Gaithersburg abolished homework assignments in 2012, and the place of it requested students to read every evening. The same year in a letter to parents, Principal of elementary school PS from New York explained the no-homework policy. Across the US, it is not clear how prevalent the no-homework trend is.

Supporters of homework

The majority of parents support reducing or abolishing homework for elementary grade children. Some teachers prefer not giving homework assignments, but they are under immersed pressure from either parents or administrators. All parents desire their children to have the best, and most think homework is the best thing for children. Besides, some equate the quantity of homework to academic rigor. Not all homework is harmful, with an extremely motivated child who happens to like mathematics; research shows they tend to get considerable benefit from homework. Homework assignments have positive impacts on particular students in certain circumstances.

In support of focused homework

Despite the debate, lower grade level homework assignments will not end immediately. However, children should not struggle with homework beyond a considerable amount of time.

The 10-minute policy, joint by national PTA and national association education, suggests 10 to 20 minutes of home assignments per night to grade one and extra 10 minutes per grade for other grades.

Liaise with the teacher to ensure your children receive homework relevant to their level. Homework assignments ought to be challenging and thought-provoking instead of keeping children busy. You should also understand the objective of allocating homework. Homework that is purposeful and allocated at difficulty level and in quantity relevant to the child, and then it will be easy to integrate into household life.

Effects of much homework on children’s’ health http://www.lsepoxies.com/effects-of-much-homework-on-childrens-health.html http://www.lsepoxies.com/effects-of-much-homework-on-childrens-health.html#respond Wed, 05 Aug 2020 15:14:00 +0000 http://www.lsepoxies.com/?p=66 Research has shown that teachers assign students inordinately massive quantity of homework than the recommended; this leads to undesirable health effects. When teachers force students to do much homework higher than their levels, it can lead to high-stress levels to parents and children. Both national PTA and national education associations support a 10-minute policy per grade. Data has shown that homework given over the standard level is not useful to children’s GPA or scores but is also harmful to their way of thinking on quality of life, social skills, self-confidence, grades, and school. A more recent study found out that children in early primary school did three times the prescribed homework quantity. This additional homework can cause family stress, particularly if parents have little education and fear voicing concerns of children to school. For parents without college degrees, 200 % is likely to engage in a family struggle, while few parents have opted out of homework assignments for the children.

Effects on high school students

Studies have shown that too much homework overburden high school students and affecting their health. Research by Stanford University suggested that homework exceeding 2 hours every night is counterproductive. For example, students attending high-performing schools that devote much time on assignments experience physical health challenges, more stress, alienation in society, and lack of balance in life. More than 70 % of students said they are likely to get stressed by schoolwork, and 56 % said homework was the primary stressor. On the other hand, less than 1 percent said they did not find homework as the reason for stress. Over 80 % of students reported exhibiting one or more stress-associated symptom in the last one month, while 44 % reported experiencing at least three symptoms.

The research found out that students who spend much time on assignments were not nurturing crucial life skills or achieving developmental needs. Such students were likely not to participate in hobbies, stop meeting family or friends, and forgo physical activities. The majority of these students felt obligated or forced to do homework over other developmental skills or talents.

The pressure to work as adults

A research by New York University comprised interviews with administrators, teachers, and students, together with a survey of 128 juniors. The study focused on how students in selective private high schools manage the pressure of college applications, schoolwork, parent’s expectations, and extracurricular found the same findings. The study noted serious and real health impacts for high school students like emotional exhaustion, abuse of illicit drugs or alcohol, and chronic stress. Approximately half of the students complained of doing not less than 3 hours of homework every evening. They also struggle with the pressure of taking college-standard classes and succeed in events outside of school. They felt that they are under pressure to work as adults, which results in little time to relax or engage in creative activities. Over two-thirds of these students confided to drug and alcohol use, especially marijuana, to manage high-stress levels.

Homework quality is more important than quantity

The majority of education experts agree that the quality of homework is more important than quantity. According to the Stanford University study, students felt that homework was not only mindless but also pointless. Denise Pope, the co-author of the study, argues that homework ought to have benefit and purpose and established to nurture development and learning. Schools and teachers must follow 10-minutes policy guidelines. In difficult situations with too much homework, students shouldn’t forget that it’s possible to get affordable help online at Do My Homework 123 at a low fee.

Motivation to do homework http://www.lsepoxies.com/motivation-to-do-homework.html http://www.lsepoxies.com/motivation-to-do-homework.html#respond Mon, 06 Jul 2020 08:36:44 +0000 http://www.lsepoxies.com/?p=63 With the struggles in our daily life and the loads of work to be done, students may need the motivation to do homework. It is not easy having to spend 8 hours in the classroom and yet returning with about two to three hours of assignment. Stress, tiredness, and even anxiety may set in. They therefore need a little more morale to have their night assignments done. But where and how would they find the inspiration? Here are a few steps to get your homework done without a struggle.

  1. Start your day motivated

Starting each day, well-motivated goes a long way in achieving a fulfilled day. It should be a regular ritual and not when you only have homework to do. Identify something that keeps you motivated during your bad times and use it to your advantage.

  1. Reward Yourself

Getting a tedious and long hours work done is no mean achievement. Just as people are rewarded for doing a fantastic job, you can also reward yourself for getting that important homework done. Rewarding yourself can be in different forms. Buying yourself a drink, taking an hour’s break, enjoying your favorite program, or even playing a game could be the reward. Doing this with your achievements in mind, and you would always be inspired to do more.

  1. Work with another person

Working alone for long hours can be very boring and stressful. In doing a long hour homework, you can invite a classmate over to do it together. Sharing ideas can make the work easier and get you motivated to do more. When boredom sets in, at least you will have a chat or play partner. Note: if you are doing the same assignment, do not copy each other.

  1. Choose a conducive place for your homework

You can derive inspiration from the environment you are working. If you do your homework in a shambolic and scattered environment, you would surely get demotivated. Instead, choose a serene and conducive place, especially when you have long hours of work to do. If you cannot get such a place at home, go out. It can be at your community library or under a tree where you can get fresh air.

  1. Find the right time

We all an ideal time in the day that we become productive and would want to do serious work. As a student, identify that particular time, and that can be the best time to do your homework. With that, you are already self-motivated and wouldn’t need external enthusiasm.

  1. Keep reminding yourself of your purpose for schooling

Unlike kids who attend school just because their parents have asked them to, every adult takes that decision and have reasons for it. Some are workers seeking to upgrade themselves to gain promotion, for career purposes, or to learn a skill. You wouldn’t want to give up on your dreams just because of homework. Therefore, keep reminding yourself of this purpose, and that will keep you motivated to do your assignment.

Conclusion

Your dreams and aspirations towards life should be enough motivation to cross every hurdle, including homework that may come your way. Keep yourself in check and find the best way that suits you.

Should kids have homework? http://www.lsepoxies.com/should-kids-have-homework.html http://www.lsepoxies.com/should-kids-have-homework.html#respond Mon, 06 Jul 2020 08:34:28 +0000 http://www.lsepoxies.com/?p=60 Gone are the days when it was only students who seem to complain long hours of homework. Parents and teachers alike thought it was the best way to ensure continuity of classroom lessons. However, things have changed. Some parents are now backing the scrapping of homework or total hours reduction.

Aside from that, various research on the practice has provided contradictory reports. Some are for and others against homework, providing varied opinions. This makes the effectiveness or otherwise of homework uncertain. But the big question is, should kids have homework? Keep reading as you try to address this question.

Studies about homework

Duke professor Harris Cooper has emphasized the need for students to do homework. According to his research on the practice, there is a link between home tasks and academic achievement, especially at higher grades. He, therefore, recommended the 10 minutes rule, i.e., students at first grade should have 10 minutes of homework. This should be increased by an additional 10 minutes each year as they progress. Therefore, in the twelfth grade, they can have about 2 hours of homework daily. Cooper then proposed for more research to be done on the effects of homework on kids.

However, those against homework say that the research could not prove that students were doing better due to homework. They argue that some students may be performing better because they are more committed to learning and performing better in school and not because of home assignments.

On the other hand, some scholars suggest that the focus should be on the type and how much homework students have to do. To them, the debate on whether or not kids should have homework is needless. Homework must always address the needs of kids and shouldn’t be random. A personalized task should be given to kids with special needs.

A study at Indiana University found that science and maths homework could improve standardized test grades. Nonetheless, the difference in the course grades of students who took homework and those who did not was negligible. They, therefore, concluded that homework does not promote content mastery.

Ban on homework

Some schools and even countries have started scrapping homework at certain levels. Some are also considering banning the practice entirely. In the US, the state of Florida has adopted a no home task policy at the elementary level. They instead replaced it with 20 minutes nightly reading for kids. According to Superintendent Heidi Maier, the decision resulted from Professor Harris Cooper’s findings that elementary students benefitted much from reading than doing homework. Schools like Orchard Elementary School in South Burlington, Vermont, have taken the same decision.

Conclusion

Whether kids should have homework or not may depend on the situation. As clearly stated, the focus should instead be on how much homework kids can have and what type. We believe that educators can achieve great results if they were to assign a personalised task. Also, the quality of work can churn more significant results than more and random assignments.

Why is homework important http://www.lsepoxies.com/why-is-homework-important.html http://www.lsepoxies.com/why-is-homework-important.html#respond Mon, 06 Jul 2020 08:31:46 +0000 http://www.lsepoxies.com/?p=57 Despite the numerous controversies surrounding homework, nobody has proved that it has zero impact on students’ development. Homework is believed to improve academic achievement, time management, and inculcate a sense of discipline into the student.

That is not to say that it is 100% perfect with no flaws. At least, there is proof that long hours of homework can cause stress and can result in drug use, among others. That notwithstanding, the few negatives should not override the positivity.

As a student, I developed a hostile attitude towards homework. I sat in the classroom from 8 am to 3 pm, and then did 2 hours of extra classes with a private teacher. I usually returned from school around 5 pm not to rest but to commit extra hours in doing assignments of different subjects. That notwithstanding, I still had to help my mum in home chores. This caused my detest for home assignments.

However, things could have been different if teachers considered the type of tasks and how much of it was assigned each day. Grown-up and working now, I have developed a different perspective on the home task. It is a very important aspect of education when well planned. Let’s answer the question why is homework important?

  1. Parents contribute to the child’s education
  2. Homework allows parents to monitor their children’s performance at school and contribute to their education. When a kid is assigned a home task beyond him/her, the first person they seek help from is the parent. This creates a special interaction between kids and parents. While helping in the assignment, they are also able to assess the kid’s performance. As an educator, you must try to assign individual tasks, which would need the involvement of parents.

  3. It reinforces skills
  4. Continuous practice brings perfection in all endeavors. We can sharpen skills and remember information through constant learning. With homework, students get to practice what they learned in school. Even if they didn’t understand a topic during class hours, through a home task, they can relearn, understand, and answer questions correctly.

  5. Improves self-discipline and independency
  6. Through home assignments, students can develop the habit of self-discipline, including how to manage their time. Every student knows the consequences of not submitting homework on time; as such, they can plan their day to include it. They may have to cut unimportant activities to focus on the assignment. Also, essential life skills like being independent and working with a little or no supervision are imbibed in them.

  7. Reduces screen times
  8. An average child would want to spend as much time as possible watching television, play games, or fidget with a phone. However, they can’t do this when they have something very important, like homework to do.

  9. Prepares students for the next topic
  10. A preparatory type of homework prepares students for the next major topic. It introduces them to what is to the learned in subsequent days. With this type, the teacher assigns students to read a chapter of the learning material to be used in the next class. It also helps them to prepare their questions in advance.

What Can I Do if my Homework is Due Tomorrow? http://www.lsepoxies.com/what-can-i-do-if-my-homework-is-due-tomorrow.html http://www.lsepoxies.com/what-can-i-do-if-my-homework-is-due-tomorrow.html#respond Fri, 01 Jul 2016 08:06:53 +0000 http://www.lsepoxies.com/?p=5 You’re Not Alone

You look at the clock and it is 5 p.m. and you haven’t even begun the forty calculus problems that are due tomorrow. What do you do? There are all kinds of ways you could tackle this dilemma. First, though, know that there are about a million students in your same boat right now, wondering how they can get, perhaps, 80 problems done that they’ve been putting off the entire week. Here are some helpful things that you can try.

First, Call a Friend from Class

Do you have a friend from class who might want to get together with you for a “knock out this homework fast” kind of session. You could divide the problems up into 20 for you and 20 for them and share some answers. You might even have them tackle all the even ones and you the odd ones to break up the similarities. Of course, you’ll have to put the work into your own handwriting, but, heck – you can do that later while you watch The Big Bang Theory.

Hire a Homework Helper

There are freelancers and homework helpers online 24 hours a day who can either help you with difficult problems or simply do them for you for a fee. Some of these sites are tutoring sites and some are free, while some homework helpers work for a fee. You’ll want to leave time for this option and time for you to find the perfect helper or freelancer for you. If it’s calculus homework, for example, who better to seek out than a math masters or doctoral student? They’ll sail through your Calculus one homework with ease and can, perhaps, explain it to you in a way that you can understand more easily than your professor’s explanations.

Knock Out the Easy Problems First and Then Google the Hard Ones

Knocking out the easy problems first is a great idea because you’ll gain confidence solving these to tackle the more difficult problems. What you can do at that point is one of several things. You could call the class genius in that subject to help you through the three or four you are having problems with, or you could Google the problem and see if some other student has conquered it and is sharing their answers or try YouTube videos on like problems.
